ABCDx Initiates Technology Transfer of LVOCheck Platform to Creonate Manufacturing to Advance Manufacturing and Regulatory Readiness

6.18.26

Geneva, Switzerland and Barcelona, Spain, 18 June 2026 - ABCDx, a Swiss-Spanish diagnostics company developing blood-based solutions for acute brain injury, today announced the initiation of the technology transfer of its LVOCheck platform to Creonate Manufacturing. This marks an important step in the company’s transition from clinical development toward a manufacturable, quality-controlled and regulatory-ready product platform.

LVOCheck is ABCDx’s flagship point-of-care diagnostic platform designed to support the pre-hospital triage of patients with suspected acute ischemic stroke. The test combines blood biomarkers, in a lateral flow format, smartphone-based quantitative reading, and algorithmic interpretation to help identify patients with a high probability of large vessel occlusion, a severe form of stroke requiring rapid access to thrombectomy-capable centres.

The transfer to Creonate is intended to support the industrialization of the LVOCheck platform, including assay manufacturing, process optimization, quality control procedures, and preparation of manufacturing documentation aligned with ABCDx’s regulatory and quality management roadmap.

“This is a key execution milestone for ABCDx,” said Jean-CharlesSanchez, CEO and Co-founder of ABCDx. “Over the past years, we have built a strong scientific, clinical and intellectual property foundation around blood biomarkers for stroke and traumatic brain injury. The transfer to Creonate is an important step toward transforming this work into a robust, scalable and regulatory-ready product platform.”

“We are delighted to support ABCDx in the transfer and industrialization of its LVOCheck platform,” said Kevin Woolston, Managing Director of Creonate.“Our focus will be to efficiently translate the existing assay know-how into a robust, scalable and quality-controlled manufacturing process suitable for the next stages of pre-commercialization and onward into market.  The systems in place at Creonate have been optimized to offer customers robust production documentation and a manufacturing service that meets regulatory requirements, but doesn’t starve the wider development budget, while at the same time manages COGs”

As part of its development strategy, ABCDx intends to pursue a stepwise approach to productization and regulatory readiness. The initial focus will include quantitative biomarker measurement, beginning with simple assay configurations, before progressing toward multiplex formats and the fullLVOCheck stroke triage solution. This staged approach is designed to reduce technical and regulatory risk while building a reusable platform for future diagnostic applications.

“Creonate brings strong experience in lateral flow development, manufacturing transfer and scalable production,” added Jean-Charles Sanchez.“This collaboration will allow us to further strengthen the manufacturability, reproducibility and quality documentation of our platform as we prepare for the next phases of development.”

ABCDx has generated clinical evidence for its stroke biomarker approach across European prehospital settings and continues to advance its regulatory, manufacturing and clinical development strategy. The company’s broader platform is designed to support rapid, blood-based diagnostic decision-making in acute neurological conditions where time-critical triage can have a major impact on patient outcomes.

About ABCDx

ABCDx is a Swiss-Spanish diagnostics company developing rapid blood-based diagnostic solutions for acute brain injury, with a focus on stroke and traumatic brain injury. Founded as a spin-off from the University of Geneva and Hospital Vall d’Hebron, ABCDx combines biomarker discovery, intellectual property, clinical evidence generation, and point-of-care product development to improve early diagnostic decision-making in emergency and prehospital settings.

About LVOCheck

LVOCheck is ABCDx’s point-of-care diagnostic platform under development for the identification of large vessel occlusion in patients with suspected acute ischemic stroke. The platform combines blood biomarkers, a lateral flow test, smartphone-based quantitative reading and algorithmic interpretation to support faster triage decisions before hospital arrival. LVOCheck is currently under development and is not yet approved for commercial use.
